THE PARADE
The City of Cheyenne’s America’s 250th Parade will kick off the Fourth of July celebration at 9:00 AM in downtown Cheyenne. The parade begins at 18th Street and Carey Avenue, traveling north on Carey, east on 22nd Street, south on Central Avenue, and west on 17th Street. This community celebration is part of America’s 250th anniversary and invites residents and visitors to gather downtown to inspire, encourage, and celebrate.
Parking
Public parking is available at the former Safeway parking lot at 26th Street and Pioneer Avenue, as well as along nearby streets. After the parade, trolley service will be available from the Jack R. Spiker Parking Facility, located at 307 W. 17th Street, to the Capitol Complex events.

MUSICAL PERFORMANCES
From the heart of Cheyenne, live music fills the capitol grounds with the sounds of celebration worthy of America's 250th birthday featuring performances by Missy Jo, Jalan Crossland, and The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra.
HIGH IRON RAIL CAR
A public art installation featuring a modified 1956 rail boxcar transformed into a gallery and oral history station. High Iron honors railroad laborers and immigrant contributions, acting as a "living monument" to the diverse individuals who built and sustained the railroad industry.
WAC FOLK LIFE FESTIVAL
Discover the living traditions, crafts, and culture that have defined Wyoming's spirit for generations and continue to shape who we are today.
CIVIC SEASON FESTIVAL
Join the Wyoming State Museum along with a collaborative of local and statewide organizations for a summertime celebration of who we are as a nation, how we got here and where we want to go next.
FOOD & DRINKS
Fuel your festivities with a taste of the region as local flavors and refreshments keep the party going all day long on the capitol lawn.
The Historic Governor's MANSION
Open 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. with Special Events from noon to 4:00 p.m. including historic reinactors, 1776 Games and Crafts, Wyoming products for sale from various vendors, a food truck, speakers, and more!
Wyoming State Archives
Open 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on July 4th. Visitors can explore original documents, including the Wyoming State Constitution and the Women's Suffrage Act. Guided tours depart at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m.
Needs Firecracker 5K
The 10th Annual Cheyenne Firecracker 5K & 10K to benefit Needs Inc. Food Pantry is on Saturday, July 4th, 2026 at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza!

This free, public event kicks off the Governor's Semiquincentennial Celebration. The story of 1776 is usually told from the East Coast — Before Wyoming: The West in 1776 shifts the lens westward, uncovering the overlooked history of the Northern Rockies and Great Plains during that era.
